Privacy, in plain terms.
Framepress is built to compress a video on your device. This page explains what happens to your file and how optional analytics work.
Your video stays in your browser
When you choose a video, your browser reads it from your device and processes it locally. We do not upload the video, its file name, a thumbnail, or the compressed output to Framepress.
The compression engine is downloaded from jsDelivr only after you start a compression. That request loads the code needed to run FFmpeg in a browser Worker; it does not include your video.
FFmpeg's working files and processing memory are released when a job finishes or is cancelled. The selected file and result preview remain available in this tab until you replace the file or leave the page.
Optional analytics
If a Google Analytics 4 measurement ID is configured, analytics are off until you choose “Allow analytics”. Choosing “No thanks” keeps the analytics script off. Your choice is saved in this browser.
When enabled, Google Analytics may receive page activity and limited product events such as the selected format, a file-size range, a preset, whether compression succeeded, and a duration range. We do not send file names, exact file contents, thumbnails, or exact file sizes.
Analytics events are used to understand whether the compressor works and where it fails. You can change your choice below or in the notice on the home page.
Browser processing and compatibility
Video encoding can use significant memory and processor time. Your browser manages that work. Close the tab to stop it, or use Cancel while the tool is open.
Local processing depends on browser and device support for WebAssembly and the codecs inside your video. Some files may not be supported.
